The Johnson Scholarship Foundation does not make individual grants or scholarships and has no involvement in the selection process for individual scholarships. All scholarship programs are administered by the educational institution involved or, in the case of the scholarship program for children of UPS employees in Florida, administered by an independent organization. Anyone seeking scholarships should contact that educational partner institute directly.
The Foundation makes grants to a number of educational institutions to provide for scholarship programs serving people in financial need, people with disabilities, and, as noted above, the children of United Parcel Service employees in Florida.
Partner educational institutions are selected by the Foundation. The Foundation selects institutions that demonstrate a high degree of commitment to the program objectives of the Foundation. In keeping with the Foundation’s grant strategy, partner institutions are usually required to contribute administrative and financial support and raise matching funds for the Foundation’s scholarship money.
The Foundation also employs an endowment building strategy which allows it to leave its name and scholarships at a partner institution after the direct funding relationship has ended.
Potential partner institutions may contact Sharon Wood, Foundation Grants Administrator, for further information.
